The Oil Change Fiasco

I cleaned the garage a little bit so I could change my oil. It was getting cold so I was glad that I finally cleared enough space to pull my car in. I lifted it up with the jack and looked underneath the car. I was excited to see that the filter and plug were easily accessible. After I removed the plugged I realized the old as shit pan I was using to collect the old oil was in fact cracked. Oil was slowly leaking out, but it wasn’t much of a deal at the time because I knew I would be done in ten or so minutes. Unfortunately, this was not the case as the oil filter was stuck and the claw wrench I was using was just gouging the filter instead of loosening in. I tried for the longest time before I went to Walmart to get a different kind filter wrench. This sucked because I had to clean myself up a little bit so I wouldn’t get my other car dirty. I got back with the new wrench, but it still wasn’t working. I ended up stabbing the filter with a screwdriver and then pounding that screwdriver with a mallet until the filter loosened up. My garage ended up being a friggin mess. I poured kitty litter over the huge ass oil slick and will probably end up cleaning it up next weekend. At least the robot in my car did tell me what a jackass I am. What a hell of a day to spend your day off.
